Telluride, Colorado, is located in the southwestern portion of Colorado. It resides at 8,750 feet above sea level, while its sister-city, Mountain Village, is perched atop the hill and rests at 9,545 feet above ocean waters. Telluride earned a National Historic District status several decades back, which keeps our quaint Victorian town’s ambiance looking almost identical to its gold mining era of the late 1800s. Butch Cassidy robbed his first bank in Telluride, while real-life boxer Jack Dempsey and the Rocky Balboa franchise owner and actor Slyvester Stallone lived here for a spell, too. Because of its incredibly beautiful terrain, Telluride and Mountain Village has attached people from all over the earth to its corridors. Its world-class skiing and legendary steeps have helped create some of the West’s most dynamic skiers, mountain bikers and athletes. In fact, Telluride has many ultra-athletes who can claim some fame in the physical world.
Replete with a top-notch ski mountain, golf course, rivers, trails and parks, Telluride is also highly regarded for its cultural offerings. It’s known to be the Festival Capital of the Rockies. Telluride Bluegrass, Telluride Jazz, Telluride Film festivals have all made it to the top of the festival games bringing in the most gigantic names on earth.
